Donnie Wood

Primary Role(s): Bassist, Live Sound Engineer, Studio Owner, Producer

Location: Bartlesville, OK

Specialties: Red Dirt, Folk, Country, Americana, Roots Rock, Blues

Bio:

A music industry veteran with deep roots in Oklahoma’s Red Dirt and blues scenes, Donnie Wood brings decades of experience to every project. As a bassist, he’s shared the stage with genre legends like Stoney LaRue, Bob Childers, and Dustin Pittsley. Behind the scenes, he has run sound for venues and touring bands, eventually co-founding Red Cat Event Audio and Digital Recording.

Born out of both passion and adaptability, Red Cat grew from a live production company into a fully equipped recording studio and listening venue
(The Grey Dog Listening Room). Donnie’s craftsmanship—honed as a trim carpenter—shaped the space itself, while his ears and vintage gear collection shape the sound within it. Known for creating a relaxed, artist-friendly atmosphere, Donnie is equally at home behind the bass, at the mixing console, or guiding sessions as a producer.
